Brief Description: ​Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a slowly progressing disease that results in airflow obstruction. Exacerbations are generally triggered by infections but may also result from non infectious etiologies. This guideline describes the diagnosis and the treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease exacerbations among inpatients.
