Clinical Practice Guideline: Lung Resection: Lobectomy, Segmentectomy, Wedge Resection

Brief Description: Lung resection is the surgical removal of all or part of the lung due to the development of lung cancer or other lung diseases. This guideline presents information on patient assessment, consults, nutrition and activity requirements, respiratory requirements, patient education, and discharge planning. The three lung resection procedures discussed include: 

Lobectomy removes one lobe of the lung
Segmentectomy removes areas of the lung along with their veins, arteries, and airways
Wedge resection removes an area of the lung that includes part of one or more lobes.
